Paper Piecing Tutorial

Recently Hannah learned how to "paper piece" and today she has made a tutorial to help you do it too. It is a quick and easy technique that can give you all kinds of fun clothes for your paper Marcis and Lukas. Imagine all the creative fun you can have with a few paper Marci dresses stamped on different patterns.
1. Choose your stamp, your theme and your paper.
Hannah chose Formal Luka and Fancy Marci and some lovely flower and plaid paper.
2. Stamp your images twice. Once, on your favourite stamp paper and once, or twice, on patterned paper.
3. Colour all of your Marci and Luka parts that are not clothes. You do not have to stick out your tongue like Hannah.... hee, hee.
4. Cut out the clothes parts from your patterened paper images and glue them to your coloured Marci and Luka.
5. Add any finishing touches to your final piece. Hannah used glitter glue and pencil crayons.
6. Cut out completed paper pieced images and use as needed. The pants were stamped on a textured cream cardstock that was actually the BACK of the plaid paper.

Faerie Marci Watering her Garden

Hi, this is Maddy.  I'm 11 yrs. old and I wanted to share my fairy card using Faerie Marci.  I used a cool watering can charm and a big flower.  Then for the water, I used some white and turquoise baker's twine.  I also watercolored the blue cardstock to make it look edgey.  I cut out a cloud and glued on faux snow (rubbing 2 styrofoam balls together) to make it look fluffy.  I also added stickles to her tiara for jewels.  Hope you like it!  :)

I almost forgot... Please enter our KIDS contest!!  It's to make a bookmark using any La-La Land Crafts stamp or digi!  You could win a free stamp, so please enter and tell your friends!!
Hugs,
Maddy

Cheerleader Marci card

Hi everybody!  I'm so excited to show you my Cheerleader Marci card!!  I used three different ribbons to make it look similar to her outfit.  I cuttlebugged the lime green cardstock and sponged it too.  I used dark blue buttons in three different sizes with orange stick on gems ontop.  I also used silver stick on gems too.        xxCARLYxx

End of Summer Thank You's.

Tomorrow is my last day of Day Camp and I thought I would make my favourite counsellors a "Merci" Marci card :) Mum prepared a mini album and I coloured a Summer Marci to go on the front page. She looks perfectly summery I think. My friend Chloe came over to make cards too, I used Buccaneer Marci for the card and Princess Marci for the envelope; Chloe did it the other way around. Here is a picture of the things I made, I made the bracelet too. Next time I will put a Marci Shrink Plastic Charm on the bracelet.
What have you been up to? Looking forward to seeing all of your projects on the blog.
See you soon,
Hannah xoxo
PS. Did you enter the Bookmark Contest yet??

The Amazing Shrinking Marci - Tutorial.

Step 1. Stamp image onto shrink plastic.
Step 2. Lightly sand BACK of plastic to roughen the surface.
Step 3. Colour your image on the roughened side. I tried Sharpies and Prismacolour. I prefered Colouring Pencils they leave more light. Did you notice I changed Marci :)
Step 4. Heat the plastic. Use the oven or heat tool. We did not show this part because it happens so quickly it was hard to capture. REMEMBER you need an adult to help you with this step the plastic gets very hot.
Step 5. Allow shrunken image to cool and use as desired.

The Amazing "Shrinking" Marci!

Hello Everyone.
Mummy and I had a great time playing with shrink plastic this week and if you look really closely at my scrapbook page-photo frame you can see the results of my big time fun!
Dress-up Marci is standing next to a very small version of herself. We made this mini Marci by stamping the image on special plastic that shrinks when heated. Luckily we get to colour BEFORE we shrink, otherwise we would have had a very hard time.
Here is a closer look..
As you can see she gets pretty small. Gotta run, icing a cake and gotta get ready for Halloween at camp today, see you later "Aligator"
Hannah ((((hugs))))

Trick or treat...

Isn't this new blog great?? This is Jana, Julia's mom, and we can't wait to share with you our first ever contest - it's coming up on Monday so be sure to keep checking back!! And now to Julia's card for today:

I made this card using some fun Pink Paislee paper that Irina gave to my mom. She gave me a whole bunch of the paper from her pack! I colored Witch Marci with my colored pencils (mom won't let me use her Copic markers yet - she says maybe when I'm 12!) and then I cut her out. I stamped the sentiment from a Stampin' Up! set in the corner and decided that it didn't need any ribbon (even though mom encouraged it - she really likes ribbon.)

You can buy Witch Marci as a rubber stamp HERE and as a digi HERE.

I added some cool spider web paper to the inside so it will look better. I hope you all like it!

I'll be back on Monday with our first contest, see you then!

Up, Up and Away!

Welcome to our new blog for kids and by kids!!  That's right, this blog is hosted by 4 young ladies (and their moms) to bring you fun ideas, share some "how-to's" and have contests that boys and girls can play in and win prizes!!   More info to come soon about our first contest!  In the meantime, our hostesses will pop in to share something they made with you ☺  Let's get this thing off the ground with Maddy's card, Up, Up and Away!!

Hello! I’m Madalyn, but you can call me Maddy. I’m soooooo excited to be here. I love La-La Land Crafts and I love this new kids version of it!!

I made this card using Pilot Luka, and here’s what I did.
I stamped it on white and on Kraft Cardstock and colored with mom’s Copics. Then I had my mom cut out the colored pieces of the box.
Then I glued them on the Kraft box, and then glued the Kraft box onto the white paper. I also added stick on pearls for his buttons. For the dog’s collar I used an oval stick on pearl and based stickels around it.
I sponged my cardstock with two colors of ink.
After all of the card was planned out I got my mom to print out a sentiment for my card.

You can buy Pilot Luka as a rubber stamp HERE and as a digi HERE.

I hope you enjoyed my first card for La-La Land Kids.
